It was Aguirre-Sacasa who broke the news of an upcoming Halloween to the attendees during Comic-Con.
Also, a recent report states that according to showrunner, the special Halloween episode in the fourth season of Riverdale will be the fourth episode as well. It would be fun and spooky for the viewers and the fans of Riverdale to witness Halloween in a small and weird Halloween town.
