The series has had a successful run so far and it has received a robust response from both critics and fans. Nevertheless, the future of the show is currently uncertain.

The latest reports suggest that David Fincher, the acclaimed director in Hollywood has put the film on hold. Fincher is working on several other projects and that is the reason he is unable to make time for the third season.
The recent projects of Fincher include the forthcoming film namely, Mark which is set to release in 2020. The film is about the acclaimed Hollywood film and a timeless classic Citizen Kane which comes from the viewpoints the Herman, a screenwriter. The film features Gary Oldman as the lead actor alongside Lily Collins and Amanda Seyfried.
Fincher is also busy with another project as the producer of an animated series, namely, “Love, Death, and Robots.”
If Fincher formulates a plan to renew the show then the show will feature in Netflix the following year between January or February. Fincher has clearly mentioned the fans of Mindhunters that he is busy with other projects; hence he cannot curate another season of Mindhunters as of now.
