Darbar, which released on 9th January 2020 collected around 30 Crores on its first day. Here are the second-day collections of Darbar.
Darbar is expected to collect 25 Cr on its second day. The film got released in four languages- Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. the film’s worldwide collection for 2 days are 103 Crores while overseas, the collections are around 33 Crores and the gross amount is 55 Cr. Also, in the Chennai region, it got around 4 Crores approximately.
Sources say that the film may get affected by some other big films releasing along with Darbar of which some are ‘Chaapak’, ‘Tanhaji’, ‘Sarileru Neekevaru’, ‘Ala Vaikuntapuramlo’ and many more.
According to reports, the movie was received well by the fans of superstar Rajnikanth. Though some critics have complained about the 2nd half and story, Fans of Rajinikanth are enjoying this film. So just like Rajinikanth’s previous ‘Petta’, Darbar is also a fan fest.
The film can easily get 100 Crores in the first week with a weekend advantage. Also, the Pongal festival can help darbar to run in theatre for up to 2-3 weeks. Dhanush’s Pattaas will be releasing on 16th January which can slightly affect darbar’s collections.
Darbar got fewer collections in areas like Salem, Thiruvananthapuram, Puducherry with less occupancy while in areas like Coimbatore, Vellore, Trichy, and Chennai, the film got an immense response as the occupancy is high.
The film is written by A.R. Murugadoss starring Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Nivetha Thomas, and Sunil Shetty in lead roles. In the film, Superstar Rajinikanth plays the role of a cop who must solve the case of a group of murders.
The music of the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Santosh Sivan is the cinematographer and A. Sreekar Prasad has edited the film. The film is certified with a U/A certificate with a runtime of 150 minutes.
Darbar is produced by Allirajah Subaskaran under the production banner of Lyca Productions. The film is said to be made with a budget of 200 crores. A major part of the film is shot in Mumbai.
