Chhapaak is a Hindi based drama film based on true event directed by Meghan Gulzar.produced by Meghana and Deepika in collaboration with fox studios. it stars Padukone as an acid attack survivor, alongside Vikrant Massey. After receiving rave reviews from film critics, the film is slowly and steadily climbing up the box office ladder. It is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
even it received a positive response from the critics but couldn’t get the expected collections on the first day of the film whereas it received a good talk in the next few days. The boycott of the film in many tier-2 cities in the country also affected the business.
Several groups started boycotting the film and threatened theatre owners against screening Chhapaak after Deepika Padukone visited JNU to show solidarity with the students and teachers of the university who were attacked by masked goons on January 5.
the first six days collection of this film was pretty decent it almost collected around 26.52 Cr India net. and the seventh-day collection is around 2cr.

the first-week collection was very promising for the producers as it collected around 30 cr but many believed that the collection was affected by the visit of the star of the film Deepika Padukone in the protest of the JNU students. Even with many controversies this film reached its mark and run well in the theatres.
the producers of this film were very disappointed in this film as they were expecting more from this film but this couldn’t meet their expectations well this film couldn’t collect more but attracted more audiences every day as days pass. The film is expected to run more in the next days.
